Debt Advice
Living with unmanageable debt can adversely affect people’s lives in many ways – lowering confidence and self-esteem, putting a strain on relationships, causing health problems due to stress and restricting future prospects. People in debt can be at risk of losing their home, their possessions or their essential services. They are also likely to be suffering the personal effects of debt, such as stress, family breakdown, mental or physical illness.
Debt advisers aim to empower clients by helping them to prioritise their debts and maximise their incomes. They provide tailored advice and information to help a client take back control of their finances. Debt advisers won’t tell a client what to do but will explain all of the many solutions available and the possible outcomes. Clients are encouraged to make their own decisions and act on their own behalf but where needed advisers will negotiate with creditors and write letters on their client’s behalf.

Debt advice offered by the North Belfast Partnership is free, confidential and is available face to face, by telephone or online. We are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), ensuring that our advice meets strict standards and is always in the best interest of the client.
